Minieri on top ahead of EPT Poland final table

Italian card sharp Dario Minieri leads the field going into the last day of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Polish Classic, it has been reported.
The ultra-aggressive player, who picked up his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet over the summer, has 359,500 chips, according to Card Player, leaving him 10,500 ahead of Sergey Shcherbatskiy in second place.
Nico Behling is third on 343,500 chips, followed by Arnaud Mattern (328,000), Ludovic Lacay (296,500), Atanas Gueorguiev(186,500), Joao Barbosa (123,000), Andrea Benelli (100,000) and Michael Muheim (89,000) - the rest of the final table combatants.
Minieri has a good record of competing in major final tables, having notched up two third-place finishes and a victory from his three career appearances.
Another strong showing on Wednesday (November 19th) should lift him up into the top ten of Card Player's player of the year competition. He currently lies 29th on 3,080 points - 1,240 behind WSOP main event winner Peter Eastgate in eighth.
