Hachem: I prefer live poker to online

2008-12-02 12:05:07

Joe Hachem, the 2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event winner, has stated that he prefers playing poker live rather than online.

In an interview with Poker News, the Lebanese-Australian revealed that while he feels internet poker has its uses, it could never replace the live format as his chief passion.

"I def prefer live but find online is convenient practice and to get a feel for what the new guys are doing," he remarked.

Hachem is the third biggest money winner in the history of live tournament poker, according to the Hendon Mob, with earnings recorded at $10.77 million.

Only Jamie Gold ($12.1 million) and Daniel Negreanu ($11.2 million) have won more over the course of their careers.

Despite this, however, Hachem remains hungry for success and he told Poker News that he would love to add an Aussie Millions or a European Poker Tour title to his trophy collection, which features bracelets from the WSOP and the World Poker Tour.
