Shannon Shorr has revealed he is looking forward to his trip to Las Vegas next week to compete in the Five Diamond World Poker Classic.
The Alabaman has been away from the live poker circuit for much of the last four months, but with his college semester about to come to an end he is finally set to return to the felt.
Writing in his blog, Shorr remarked: "I'm super stoked to be going to Vegas next week."
"I played the online tournaments yesterday and things went pretty horribly."
Before going to college in September, Shorr had enjoyed a successful 2008 playing poker tournaments.
He finished second in a World Series of Poker event and won at the Bellagio Cup IV, which catapulted him deep into the top ten in Card Player's player of the year race.
Despite his layoff, he is still 15th in that competition and a big win away from making the top five.
