EPT Prague starts today

2008-12-09 14:31:40

World Series of Poker main event champion Peter Eastgate is scheduled to be at the next leg of the European Poker Tour (EPT), which gets underway later today (Tuesday December 9th) in Prague.

According to the official EPT website, it will mark the first time that the 22-year-old Dane has competed in the Prague event, which was won last year by Arnaud Mattern.

Eastgate has never reached an EPT final table, but has had two deep runs during his career, finishing 32nd at the 2008 EPT Copenhagen and 18th at the 2008 EPT London.

€708,400 ($910,940) went to the Prague victor in 2007, but a bigger prize pool is on the cards this week, with the tournament field capped at 600 - up from 550 - and the buy-in €300 more at €5,000.

Prague is the last stop for the EPT in 2008, with six tournaments left to go over the first five months of 2009.
