A total of 570 competitors turned up to play days 1a and 1b of the European Poker Tour (EPT) event in Prague this week.
According to the official EPT website, Johnny Lodden, Dario Minieri and Sebastien Ruthenberg were among the big names who made it through to day two, while Gus Hansen and Luca Pagano went to the rail early, Card Player reports.
The payout structure for the event has been confirmed, with 774,000 ($1.02 million) - 65,600 more than last year - set to go to the winner.
Lodden, Minieri and Ruthenburg have all had recent success on the EPT.
Minieri came third at EPT San Remo at the tail-end of last season and finished in the same position again at EPT Warsaw in November.
Meanwhile, Lodden was eighth in this year's EPT Budapest and Ruthenburg took down the 2008 EPT Barcelona, earning just under $2 million for his troubles.
