Bonavena takes down EPT Prague

Salvatore Bonavena walked away from the Golden Prague Poker Hilton Prague Hotel €774,000 ($1.04 million) richer over the weekend after taking victory in the latest European Poker Tour (EPT) event.
He defeated countryman Massimo Di Cicco in the heads-up to take the title and become the first Italian to ever seize an EPT crown.
Andrew Alan Chen of Canada finished third, ahead of Greece's Alexiou Konstantinos, another Italian Francesco Cirianni, Fredrik Nygard from Finland, Germany's Nasr El Nasr and Raul Mestre of Spain.
The competition marks the final appearance for the EPT in 2008, with the next leg, the Caribbean Adventure, set to get underway on January 5th at the Atlantis Resort & Casino on Paradise Island.
That tournament is traditionally one of the biggest on the EPT calendar and featured a prize pool of $8,562,976 at the start of this year, of which $2 million went to champion Bertrand Grospellier.
