David 'Chino' Rheem picked up more than $1 million for the second time this year on Friday night, taking victory in the World Poker Tour (WPT) Doyle Brunson Classic.
The Californian came from behind to defeat Justin Young in the heads-up, picking up $1,538,730 and his first ever major live poker title.
Even McNiff finished third, followed by Steve Sung and Amnon Filippi, who were eliminated by Young in the same hand.
Hoyt Corkins, arguably the most experienced of the final table competitors, was the first to be knocked out in sixth position.
Rheem's triumph completes his best year to date on the live poker circuit and follows on from the $1,772,650 he received for finishing seventh in the World Series of Poker main event last month.
A ninth-place finish in Card Player's player of the year race seems assured for the 28-year-old, with no more major competitions left to take place in 2008.
