Kamberis extends lead as OPOY race nears its end

Alex 'AJKHoosier1' Kamberis has extended his lead at the top of Card Player's online player of the year (OPOY) rankings with just over a week to go in 2008.
Kamberis, who has led the competition for the last few months, picked up 160 points for finishing sixth in an event on December 21st, taking his record score to 9,424.
This leaves him 1,470 points ahead of Steve 'gboro780' Gross, who will need a Christmas miracle if he is to overhaul the deficit before the end of the year.
Brian 'SNo0oWMAN' Hawkins is third on 7,256 points, followed by Daniel 'djk123' Kelly (7,062) and Laurence 'whatariver1' Houghton (6,964).
Mark 'dipthrong' Herm (6,875), Shaun 'shaundeeb' Deeb (6,840), Nicholas 'CapTinBisKuit' Blumenthal (6,654), Peter 'breeth' Turmezey (6,636) and mendieta19 (6,622) round out the top ten.
In Bluff Magazine's equivalent competition, BodogMaven has taken a late lead, moving ahead of PearlJammer and Moorman1 over the last few days.
