Negreanu announces reduced poker schedule

Four-time World Series of Poker bracelet holder Daniel Negreanu has announced that he will play significantly less poker in 2009 than he has in recent years.
Writing in his Full Contact Poker Blog, Kid Poker suggested that he wants to spend more time enjoying himself, which means traveling to fewer poker competitions, cutting down on tutorials and reducing his other commitments.
Prior to the World Series of Poker in June, he plans to play approximately 11 tournaments in total, with the entire month of May set to be spent away from the felt and on the golf course instead.
"I'm excited about taking control of my life and only doing things I really want to do," Negreanu said. "I'm going to be a bit more selfish in terms of looking out for numero uno."
Negreanu is the second biggest earner in the history of the live tournament poker circuit and needs to win less than $1 million to overtake Jamie Gold at the top of the Hendon Mob's rankings.
