Seidel delighted with WPT victory

Erik Seidel has admitted he was delighted with his victory at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Foxwoods Poker Classic during 2008.
The 49-year-old, who holds eight World Series of Poker titles, told Card Player magazine he had previously puzzled over his inability to win a WPT crown despite competing in the tournament series every year since its inception in 2002.
"It was a nice win for me, I really felt like I was underperforming on the WPT so it felt nice to finish one off …I was starting to wonder what was wrong," he remarked.
Before the Foxwoods event, Seidel had cashed in 15 WPT tournaments, earning just over $600,000.
He reached one previous final table at the Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship during season three, finishing in fourth position behind winner Carlos Mortensen, Kido Pham and David Pham.
At present, Seidel has competed in more WPT tournaments than any other player with 79 appearances.
