Negreanu to play poker at micro stakes

2009-01-05 13:15:45

Four-time World Series of Poker bracelet holder Daniel Negreanu has revealed that he is to start playing at the very lowest levels of online poker for "fun".

Kid Poker told readers of his Full Contact Poker blog that he has set himself the challenge of competing with a $25 bankroll at $0.01-$0.02 stakes, with the intention of moving up a level once he has earned enough money.

"The goal is to run it up to like $100,000 in about three years or so," he explained.

Negreanu has already had his first attempt playing at micro stakes and has earned $6.29 from two ring games.

He will move to $0.02-$0.04 stakes once his earnings have reached $25.

At the start of December, Negreanu discussed playing a game at stakes of $200-$400.

The Canadian stated that the attempt to move from the very lowest limits up to high stakes could be "a bit enlightening".
