Shorr suggests he cannot understand 'grinding' in the Bahamas

2009-01-05 13:22:10

Shannon Shorr has suggested that he does not understand why poker players would choose to play online when in a location as beautiful as the Bahamas.

Writing in his blog, the Alabaman stated that he was considering competing online prior to entering the European Poker Tour (EPT) Caribbean Adventure this week, but that it would go against his usual work ethic.

"We've always kind of laughed at the kids who grind a lot online in the lobbies when in the beautiful Bahamas … so playing would be kinda hypocritical," he remarked.

Shorr does not have a particularly good record of competing on the EPT, having cashed once since turning professional in 2006.

He lamented his recent performances in $10,000 buy-in events, claiming his results have generally been "disappointing" over the last 25.

The last time he finished in the money in a competition with a buy-in of $10,000 or higher was the 2007 World Poker Tour Doyle Brunson Classic in which he came 71st.
