Fernandez leads the field after EPT Caribbean Adventure day 1b

Chris Fernandez had the most successful time of any player during day 1b of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Caribbean Adventure yesterday (January 6th).
He finished with 210,700 chips in his stack, according to Card Player, leaving him 15,100 ahead of second-placed Billy Chen.
Daniel Heimiller, who finished third in World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour events during 2008, followed with a stack of 178,300, with Scott Bateson (177,600) and Foued Atigui (169,700) rounding out the top five.
Among the big names to go to the rail during the day's action were Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, Robert Mizrachi, Dario Minieri and reigning champion Bertrand Grospellier.
Boris Becker, the former tennis ace who now plays cards professionally with the backing of a major poker website, was also eliminated.
The winner of the event will likely go straight to the top of Card Player's player of the rankings for 2009, which are currently being led by the relatively unheralded Daniel Clemente on 480 points.
