Brunson: No high-stakes games around at present

2009-01-08 11:56:01

Doyle Brunson has lamented the lack of high-stakes poker games in Las Vegas at the moment due to the majority of the top players being away in the Bahamas for the European Poker Tour Caribbean Adventure.

The Texas Dolly wrote in his blog that he is not too interested in doing much travelling to tournaments anymore and is satisfied with the events on offer in Vegas and California.

However, he prefers competing in cash games as he believes the rewards are much greater, which is perhaps the reason behind his disappointment.

"There is no high-limit poker right now. Everybody has gone to the Bahamas for a tournament. As I have repeatedly said, internet poker and tournaments have ruined live cash games," he remarked.

One tournament Brunson is considering travelling to is the upcoming Irish Poker Open, which he also attended last year and during the early days of the competition back in the 1980s.
