World Poker Tour titlist Roy Winston has suggested that 2009 could be a good year for Michael 'MJ' Bernstein.
The 2007 Borgata Poker Open winner wrote in his Card Player blog that he has been impressed with the way Bernstein plays having competed against him in several satellite tournaments in recent months.
He referred to one occasion in the last few days when they played together in a qualifying event at the Borgata Winter Open, with Winston finishing third and Bernstein second.
"I wouldn't be surprised to see him do well this series or this year in general," Winston remarked.
Bernstein has a good record at the Borgata, having cashed in successive Poker Opens and Winter Opens over the last two years.
He has yet to win a major competition, however, with his most high-profile finish to date coming in the main event of the 2006 World Series of Poker Circuit leg in Atlantic City. He was sixth for just over $57,000.
