Patrik Antonius walked away from an online high stakes poker game $1 million richer earlier this week, with the majority of his profit won from Tom 'Durrr' Dwan.
According to highstakesdb.com, the Finnish competitor won two pots worth more than $500,000 each in the $500/$1,000 mixed game, also winning hands worth $498,000 and $356,000.
The website stated that initially it thought the match was the first stage of Dwan's highly-publicised million-dollar heads-up challenge, but a number of other players joined the action, including Gus Hansen.
Antonius accepted Dwan's challenge - which would see him put up $500,000 against Dwan's $1.5 million - at the start of the month along with Phil Ivey and David Benyamine.
Dwan has stated that the matches will not start while the Aussie Millions tournament series is taking place in Melbourne, meaning that it could be several weeks before any of the games get underway.
