Negreanu feeling the slow pace of micro-stakes

2009-01-16 15:07:08

Daniel Negreanu has admitted he is finding his quest to move up from micro-stakes poker to high stakes slow going.

The Canadian is looking to earn $15 from $0.01/$0.02 online cash tables before he can move up to the next level of $0.02/$0.04, but wrote in his Full Contact Poker blog that he has yet to earn even a third of that amount despite playing 556 hands.

"Winning $15 at $0.01-$0.02 takes a while, sheesh," he remarked.

"I guess it's going to take me about another 1,000 hands to move up to the next level."

Negreanu would typically play games at stakes several thousand times higher than the ones he is competing at now as part of his challenge.

The four-time World Series of Poker bracelet holder and double World Poker Tour titlist is aiming to see if it is possible to start at the very bottom of the ladder and move right to the top.
