Negreanu gets past first micro-stakes level

Daniel Negreanu has successfully negotiated the first part of his $10 to $100,000 challenge, earning enough money this week to move up from $0.01/$0.02 games to $0.02/$0.05.
Kid Poker needed to turn his initial $10 stake into $25 in order to step up to the next level and revealed in his Full Contact Poker blog that he managed to win $0.26 extra as he achieved his goal in 786 hands.
"This is actually way more fun than I thought it was going to be," he said,
Negreanu played 17 sessions in total, coming away from 13 of them as a winner.
He claimed that playing at the lowest stakes was so easy that he rarely needed to bluff and deliberately over-bet hands because he felt the amount he put on the line was inconsequential to whether his opponents would call or not.
"If you can't beat that game you have a lot to learn," he remarked.
The low-stakes cash games will be one of the few occasions over the next weeks when people will get to see Negreanu playing poker, having revealed in his blog in December that he will not be playing any live tournaments until mid-February.
