$40,000 WSOP event 'the most prestigious of the year'

The $40,000 no-limit Texas hold'em tournament that kicks off this year's World Series of Poker (WSOP) will be the most important one of its kind to win in 2009, one card sharp has suggested.
Daniel Negreanu wrote in his Full Contact Poker blog that the standard of play in the event will likely be very high and predicted it will be much harder to win than standard no-limit hold'em tournaments, even though they might have fields ten times bigger.
"With each starting table being so much tougher and play remaining tough throughout, it will be the single most prestigious no-limit hold'em event of the year in terms of bragging rights," he remarked.
Kid Poker claimed that the tournament will see the best professionals go up against the best online players and predicted there will be no easy money at all in the competition, which he expects to have about 300 participants.
The two most prestigious competitions of the WSOP are usually considered to be the main event and the $50,000 HORSE championship.
