Hall surges into OPOY lead

Scott 'stpauli' Hall has taken the lead in Card Player's online player of the year (OPOY) competition.
The internet star won a tournament on Monday (January 26th) to pick up 480 points and extend his overall total to 1,946.
This leaves him 298 points ahead of Matt 'cwp394' Ross in second place and a further 118 points ahead of third-positioned Hafiz 'hafizzle' Khan.
So far this year he has won two poker tournaments outright, been runner-up on two occasions and finished third. He has also cashed in three other events.
Hall is a regular contender in the OPOY race, consistently finishing high up in points scoring events since Card Player began running the competition in 2007.
In that year he finished in 34th place with a score of 3,390 points and in 2008 came 103rd with a total of 3,494.
He is just one major victory away from breaking his personal best.
