Phillips disappointed with WSOP final table delay

2009-01-28 12:11:11

Dennis Phillips has revealed he is disappointed with the decision of Harrah's Entertainment to keep a four-month delay before the final table of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event.

In his blogspot journal, the man who finished third in 2008 did not say he was against the idea of a break entirely, but claimed he was ready to play the final table last year after just two months of waiting.

"Since I was part of the first-ever November Nine, I can tell you that four months is a really long time and I was hoping they'd cut it down this year," he remarked.

However, Phillips stated that the four months did give him time to prepare more for the final table and that he does not feel he is in a position to really complain about it.

One person who appears happy about the four-month delay is Daniel Negreanu, who wrote for Full Contact Poker that due to last year's success, it is natural that Harrah's would want to keep the schedule in place.
