The first leg of the 2009 Asian Poker Tour (APT) has got underway in Manila, Philippines.
Kicking off the new tour on January 27th was the FHM Celebrity Challenge for Charity, which was won by local all-female band the Playgirls.
The following day was mostly made up of satellite tournaments for the main event - which got underway today (January 29th) - but was headlined by a special $250 headhunter tournament, which is one of the chief side attractions of the six-day series.
February 1st will see the end of APT Philippines for another year as the $2,500 buy-in main event comes to its conclusion after three days of action.
In 2008, the competition was won by David Saab of Australia, who earned $280,000 for the victory.
Yevgeniy Timoshenko then went on to snatch the second ever APT title at a much larger event in Manila, for which he received $500,000.
