Gross: Kamberis deserved OPOY title

Steve 'gboro780' Gross has claimed he is not disappointed to have finished runner-up to Alex 'AJKHoosier1' Kamberis in last year's Card Player online player of the year (OPOY) competition.
In an interview with the publication, Gross revealed that Kamberis was his roommate last summer and stated that he does not begrudge him the win.
"He's a great player and very deserving of the award," he remarked. "If I had to lose to anybody, I'm glad it was him."
Kamberis topped the table for 2008 with a record score of 9,424 points - 1,470 better than Gross managed.
Gross has managed to get off to the best start out of the two this year, however, currently ranking in 13th place while Kamberis has yet to break inside the top 25.
According to Card Player, Kamberis has gone on record as saying Gross is one of the most consistent competitors on the internet tournament circuit.
