Weinstein wins Borgata main event

Steven Weinstein is $658,405 richer today (January 30th) after taking victory in the main event of the Borgata Winter Open last night.
The card sharp defeated Todd Terry in the heads-up of the $3,000 buy-in tournament, to pick up the cash prize and the title.
Robert Merulla was third, followed by Robert McLaughlin, Michael Contessa, Frank Caldwell, Ory Hen, Carl Pion and Charles Marchese.
A total of 27 players took part on the last day of the competition, with World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour (WPT) titlist Bill Edler in strong contention with one of the biggest chip stacks.
He went to the rail fairly early during the action, however, finishing in 17th place overall.
Weinstein joins an esteemed list of players to have taken down the winter open event, which includes Michael Mizrachi (2006), John Hennigan (2007) and Gavin Griffin (2008), who all won the tournament back when it was part of the WPT.
