Negreanu on NBC poker tournament: Oops!

2009-03-10 16:57:15

Daniel Negreanu has described his feelings about the NBC National Heads-Up Championship in one word - "oops".

Although he reached the quarter-finals, Negreanu said on his Full Contact Poker blog that he was beaten by eventual runner-up Vanessa Rousso due to making a "stupid" call.

He was sure she had a strong hand and was not bluffing - but instead of folding he let his brain overtake his instincts.

"In order to gain information and confirm its accuracy - the only way to do that is to call! You have to actually see the hand. The last call I made, it was pretty stupid," he wrote.

However, Negreanu said he played well throughout the series and is looking forward to next year. Until then, he is heading to San Jose, California for the World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star event, which is scheduled to take place in May.

Kid Poker also made an appearance this week in episode two of High Stakes Poker season five, alongside Tom Dwan and Doyle Brunson, among others.
