Winston looks forward to Atlantic City event

2009-03-12 16:55:43

Roy Winston has expressed his anticipation about getting to the tables at this year's World Series of Poker event at Caesars, Atlantic City.

The poker legend notes in a recent Card Player blog post that he is looking forward to what he fully expects to be a tournament worth attending - partially because of its charitable connections.

Winston adds that Jennifer Harmon's Kidney Foundation Charity, the group set to benefit from the games, is a cause he is glad to support.

He goes on to recall a recent online game where a $2,000 seat and $200 buy-in led to some "tough" gaming.

"At the final table, six seats were being given away and everyone basically had an average stack," Winston notes. "It amazes me how bad some people play towards the end of those things."

The player recently congratulated Huck Seed and Vanessa Rousso on their appearance at the finals of the NBC Heads Up Championship.
