Sandra Naujoks became the second woman to triumph in a European Poker Tour (EPT) event over the weekend, taking victory in the German Open in Dortmund.
The 26-year-old outlasted a star-studded final table to seize the crown, eventually clinching the win and 917,000 ($1.18 million) prize money by beating Holger Kanisch heads-up.
Marc Gork finished in third place, followed by Johan Storakers and last year's champion Michael McDonald.
Perennial EPT final tablist Luca Pagano was sixth, with William Thorsen and Cengizcan Ulusu rounding out the top eight.
Prior to Naujoks win, Victoria Coren was the only female player to have taken down an EPT event in London in 2006.
The victory helped her to secure a sponsorship deal with a major internet poker site.
April is when the EPT will return again for its penultimate leg in San Remo. The Tour will reach its conclusion at the start of May with the Grand Final in Monte Carlo.
