Negreanu reaches $100 mark in micro-stakes challenge

2009-03-26 11:55:11

Daniel Negreanu reached the $100 mark in his $10 to $100,000 online poker challenge this week.

The double World Poker Tour titlist now has just $25 to go until he can move up from the $0.05-$0.10 level to $0.10-$0.25, the last limit of micro-stakes poker, under his own rules that necessitate he must have at least 500 big blinds before he can move up.

Kid Poker suggested in his Full Contact Poker (FCP) blog that it should not take too long for him to make the move, claiming he is "close to moving up to the final rung of micro limit play".

According to updates on the FCP messageboard, Negreanu has won his last six sessions at $0.05-$0.10, earning almost $60 over the course of 255 hands.

It has taken him 554 hands at this level in total to move past the $100 mark and 1,592 hands overall since starting with $10 at $0.01-$0.02.
