Deeb goes top in OPOY race

Renowned internet card sharp Shaun 'shaundeeb' Deeb has moved into first place in Card Player's online player of the year (OPOY) competition.
Deeb, who was 5th in last year's rankings, picked up 720 points for a win on Sunday and a further 48 points for finishing 20th in a major event later that day.
This took his overall total to 4,106 points, giving him an advantage of 310 over Steve 'gboro7680' Gross in second place.
Gross secured 472 more points himself on Sunday, keeping him marginally ahead of Chris 'Moorman1' Moorman, who managed to score 360.
The player who led the competition going into the weekend, frtk, dropped down to fourth on 3,556 points.
Outside of Deeb, Gross and Moorman, several other top performers from 2008 are doing well this year.
Joe 'ender555' Ebanks for example, who was 13th last time around, currently lies in 15th position overall, just under 1,600 points behind the leader.
