Little targets another WPT POY win

Jonathan Little has revealed he is hoping to retain his World Poker Tour (WPT) player of the year (POY) crown for this season.
The reigning champion, who is joint third in this year's race, is capable of going top of the table by finishing fourth or higher in this month's Foxwoods Poker Classic and he told PokerListings.com that he is determined to achieve his goal.
"I'm well aware of [the standings]," he remarked. "Hopefully I can make it happen. Winning player of the year back to back would be huge."
He is currently 400 points behind leader John Phan and 300 behind Kathy Liebert. He has 1,000 points overall, earning them with victory at the Foxwoods' World Poker Finals back in November.
No player has ever won the WPT POY prize twice before. The winners from the previous five seasons are Howard Lederer, Erick Lindgren, Daniel Negreanu, Gavin Smith and JC Tran.
