Negreanu pays for poker mis-click

2009-04-06 14:04:50

Daniel Negreanu has claimed his chances in an online poker tournament were hurt this week by an unfortunate mishap.

Kid Poker stated in his Full Contact Poker blog that he was lying in fourth position in the event overall with 34 competitors left in the field when an opponent pushed all-in against him.

He planned to fold his cards but knocked his hand with his leg just as he was about to do so and accidentally clicked call.

His opponent won the pot and Negreanu's stack of 330,000 chips fell to 66,000, dropping him down to 32nd position.

"That's mentally tough to come back from, but what can you do. I'm still in the tournament, but not in great shape anymore," he remarked.

Afterwards, he was hit by more bad luck when his computer froze after a trip to the bathroom.

The tournament in question was a $3,000 no-limit hold'em event. In the live format, Negreanu generally only plays tournaments with $10,000 buy-ins, with the exception of the World Series of Poker.
