Confidence 'needed for consistent poker wins'

2009-04-08 12:27:25

In order to win consistently at poker, players must be confident that they can win, according to one online tipster.

Michael 'SharkBoy' Palti wrote in a Poker Network advice column this week that "you have to be able to sit down and be unafraid of losing every now and then, because it will happen".

He stated that people should avoid playing at levels where they are scared of going bust and suggested that such a strategy is particularly relevant to Omaha, where competitors will often find themselves in coin-flip situations.

An advice tome about Omaha high-low was reviewed by Poker News this week.

Omaha High-Low for Low-Limit Players by Bill Boston was dubbed an "interesting" book by critic Martin Harris, although he warned that it is "not a comprehensive introduction" to strategies for playing the game.

Boston advises that Omaha high-low is not the game for people who like to play lots of hands.
