Ainsworth goes second in POY race

Jude Ainsworth has moved up into second place in Card Player's player of the year (POY) competition after taking down a major online tournament.
The Irishman's score for 2009 now stands at 2,840 points, placing him 110 points ahead of Cornel Cimpan in third and 160 behind Poorya Nazari in first.
There had been no changes to the top three since Cimpan won the World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic at the end of February to earn all 2,730 of his points.
Most of Ainsworth's came from his online victory, but he has reached two other final tables this year, finishing third in the Euro Finals of Poker Gold Championship and sixth in an Irish Poker Championship preliminary event back in January.
His rise up the rankings has pushed Anthony Gregg (2,500) down to fourth place and Steve Brecher (2,340) down to fifth.
Kathy Liebert (2,100) is the highest ranked woman in seventh position.
