EMOP heading to Prague

2009-05-11 16:32:19

Prague is to be the location for the third installment of the European Masters of Poker (EMOP) next month.

The Spearmint Casino will be the venue for the tournament, with the €1,000 ($1,362) main event buy-in expected to generate a prize pool of €300,000.

It will begin on Thursday June 25th and is set to run for four days, the winner being crowned on Sunday June 28th.

And the tour will then move on to Spain, where Barcelona will stage an event from July 31st to August 1st.

The previous stop - in Varna, Bulgaria - saw 311 runners turn up, with Israel's Reuven Dayan ultimately taking down the first prize of €77,750.

On that occasion the prize pool totaled €311,000, with Matti Lindholm netting €46,650 for finishing second.

It followed the opening leg in Tallinn, Estonia in February, when Johanna Pyysing came through a field of 248 to take home €69,440.
