Pat Peercy has taken down a pot-limit Texas hold'em tournament at the Bayou Poker Challenge.
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit event is taking place at Hurrah's, New Orleans and the aspiring professional pocketed $7,857 for the win, as well as a championship ring.
On the final hand, Peercy's ace-queen beat Preston Derden's king-queen when the higher cards played.
However, the key hand had come earlier in the heads-up when Peercy - who started the final table with an average-sized stack - hit a flush on the river to beat Derden's trip aces and scoop the biggest pot of the tournament.
A total prize pool of $21,825 was created by the 75 runners, of which Derden took home $4,365 for his second-placed finish.
The Bayou Poker Challenge is the WSOP Circuit's last stop of the season and concludes on May 20th, with the winner of the main championship set to clinch a place in the $10,000 buy-in WSOP Main Event.
