McEvoy named in list of poker champions

A countdown of the greatest World Series of Poker (WSOP) champions has continued with the addition of Tom McEvoy to the list.
Bluff Magazine noted that McEvoy - who takes the number 12 spot - was the first Main Event champion to have won his seat through a satellite event.
He did so in 1983, taking down the tournament just six days after winning the first of his four bracelets.
McEvoy's other victories came in 1986 and 1992 and the publication highlighted the fact that he has made the final table in 20 of his 36 WSOP cashes.
The countdown of 40 greatest champions is being made to mark the 40th installment of the WSOP, which gets underway later this month.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the event's official launch party will be taking place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday May 30th.
