'Grand Old Man of Poker' added to WSOP champions list

Johnny Moss has just missed out on being named among the top five World Series of Poker (WSOP) champions of all time.
Known as 'The Grand Old Man of Poker', he secured sixth place in Bluff Magazine's countdown of 40 winners, being made to mark the event's 40th installment.
The nine-time bracelet winner attended each WSOP from 1970 until he passed away in 1995 - taking down his last tournament in 1988 at the age of 81.
Moss and Stu Ungar are the only players to have won the Main Event three times, the first of Moss' titles coming in 1970 and the last four years later.
The publication noted that he is considered one of the greatest and indeed most important players of all time, with Doyle Brunson having described him as his mentor.
Moss ranked just above Billy Baxter in the countdown, the seven-time bracelet winner having earlier been named in seventh place.
