Moon and Cada battle for WSOP crown

2009-11-09 16:49:21

The November Nine has been whittled down to two remaining players who will go heads-up in the final of the World Series of Poker.

Darvin Moon goes into the one-on-one battle as clear favourite. The 46-year-old lumberjack has dominated since the tournament restarted on Saturday November 7th thanks to his superior chip count.

He currently sits on close to $136 million (£81 million) in chips, compared to fellow finalist Joseph Cada's stack of nearly $59 million.

Few could argue that Moon would be a deserved champion, having eliminated many peoples' pre-tournament favourite Phil 'Poison' Ivey on the way to the final two.

Moon's 21-year-old opponent Cada will become the WSOP's youngest-ever champion if he overcomes the odds and Moon's stack to clinch the gold bracelet in tonight's play.

He has previously told the Southtown Star: "I waited three years to play in this tournament. It was something I always wanted to do."
