Delaware poker on the cards?

2010-02-01 15:20:29

Delaware could be about to legalize poker at three casinos in the state following the confirmation of a new bill allowing table games.

While the final decision on whether poker comes under the ruling is to be decided by the local lottery commission, it is widely expected that the pastime will be included, Poker News Today reports.

The legislation passed the House on January 21st with 27 votes in favor compared with five against.

It then moved on to the Senate, with a 15-4 outcome being reached on Thursday (January 28th).

Dover Downs, Harrington Raceway & Casino and Delaware Park are the three gambling establishments that could benefit from the move and they are expected to also run blackjack, roulette and craps games.

In recent news, Pennsylvania announced that revenues from its casinos exceeded New Jersey for the first time ever.

The state registered $189 million, $10 million more than its neighbor.
