Celebs set for charity poker tournament

A number of celebrities are set to attend Las Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel and Casino this weekend for a charity poker event.
Scheduled for Saturday (February 6th), the $1000 + $70 straddle no-limit Texas hold'em tournament is attracting famous faces such as Lou Diamond Phillips, Nancy Cartwright - better known as the voice of Bart Simpson - and Desperate Housewives actor Jesse Metcalfe, Look to the Stars reports.
Half of the proceeds raised are to go to the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer programme at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
The remaining 50 per cent will be distributed, alongside other prizes, to the triumphant winners at the table.
Modern artist Michael Godard will be the master of ceremonies for the tournament, which is due to start at 15:00 local time, following a red carpet walk and a silent auction.
Last month, more than $300,000 was raised for good causes by a poker event attended by players of the Calgary Flames ice-hockey team.
