High Stakes Poker broadcasted on Valentine's Day

2010-02-05 17:10:51

Series six of High Stakes Poker (HSP) is due to begin airing on February 14th.

The premiere of the show will be part of a Valentine's Day special entitled I Love Poker on the Game Show Network (GSN), which will feature eight hours of the best episodes from the first five seasons.

The latest instalment of the show is to be co-hosted by industry journalist and part-time player Kara Scott, who will sit alongside long-time commentator Gabe Kaplan.

According to GSN, everyone involved is excited to have Scott onboard and cited her vast experience on the poker scene as a reason for this.

She is the only woman to cash in the World Series of Poker main event in 2008 and 2009 and has also finished second in the Irish Open.

The minimum buy-in for HSP is $200,000 and this series will have popular faces including Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu and Tom Dwan.

Dwan and Ivey were recently involved in the largest televised poker pot in history, with the former winning over $1 million in the hand.
