Antonius: Older players don't improve their game enough

2010-02-15 11:44:30

Patrik Antonius has stated that professional poker players who have been on the circuit for some time fail to improve their game to keep up with new talent.

The Finn told Card Player that older pros struggle to remain competitive against the surge of fresh faces arriving on the scene, which could lead to them becoming obsolete.

He remarked: "I think there are going to be more young players coming in to dominate the biggest games."

Antonius said he is surprised that this has not already started to occur on a larger scale, with internet phenomenons such as Tom Dwan and Isildur1 already making headlines.

When asked who poses the biggest challenge to him at the moment, he noted that Phil Ivey and durrr (Dwan) are his main threats.

According to Antonius's official website, in his spare time he likes to play golf and tennis, as well as spending time with his fiancee and daughter.
