Joe Hachem welcomes addition of NAPT

2010-02-26 17:36:05

The North American Poker Tour (NAPT) has been described as a "valuable addition" to players' schedules.

Writing for the Sydney Morning Herald, Joe Hachem explained that he enjoys being in Las Vegas at this time of year, as tournaments are building up towards the World Series of Poker in June.

Noting that he missed out on the first NAPT leg in the Bahamas, the card sharp explained that he was "determined" to participate at the Venetian Hotel and Resort this week.

And Hachem suggested that the event is already becoming a major part of the international calendar in its first season, as demonstrated by the decision to televise the Las Vegas leg.

"Televised tournaments are the best way, short of actually being here on the ground in Vegas, to get a sense of the excitement, the highs and lows, the incredible personalities," he said.

The NAPT Venetian main event was ultimately taken down by 22-year-old Tom Marchese.
