Negreanu describes WPT day three troubles

2010-03-01 14:19:07

Daniel Negreanu has described the troubles he faced during day three of the ongoing World Poker Tour (WPT) LA Poker Classic main event.

Writing for his Full Contact Poker blog, the multiple World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner noted that one player in particular gave him a hard time.

Referring to the fellow gamer as "the 'guy'," Negreanu stated that he was outdrawn, outplayed and dominated by the individual, despite forgetting his name.

"I didn't really lose a pot to anyone else. When I played pots with other people I basically busted them to stay alive and donate more chips to 'the guy'," he lamented.

However, because of the tournament's deep-stack structure, Kid Poker explained, he was able to fight back from nearly going out to end the day on 222,500 chips - slightly above the average.

Negreanu won his first WSOP event in 1998 playing pot-limit Texas hold-em, netting nearly $170,000 in the process.
