Cole South loses $1m online

2010-03-04 17:34:35

Cole South has seen his fortunes dip after the poker professional dropped over $1 million at the nosebleed-stakes Omaha tables online.

The internet pro had won a similar amount just a month before, racking up an impressive $1.1 million in a single day.

He dropped the majority of the money to fellow net legends Tom Dwan and Ilari 'Ziigmund' Sahamies, with South experiencing some brutal variance during a 3,648-hand session.

One of the largest pots went to Sahamies, who picked up almost $291,000 with a rivered flush.

However, despite the losses, South remains one of this year's leading money earners and still has some $2 million in profits for 2010.

Last month, he admitted on his Cardrunner poker blog that he has had a great start to the year.

"There has been a ton of action at very high stakes and I've had a lot of luck (hopefully some good play as well) on my side," he said.
