Negreanu predicts deep Heads Up run for Moneymaker

2010-03-05 17:04:20

Daniel Negreanu has claimed that Chris Moneymaker could have a deep run in the NBC Heads Up Championship, which starts today (March 5th).

Moneymaker has been cited as the main drive behind the poker boom experienced in the early 2000s, after he won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2003 main event through online qualification.

Negreanu noted that while Moneymaker has failed to make an impression in made-for-TV events since winning the WSOP, his luck might be about to change.

"Call it a hunch, but I think Moneymaker is due to run good," he remarked, predicting that the accounting graduate will beat Patrik Antonius, Eric Baldwin and Huck Seed on his way to the quarter-finals.

Kid Poker added that despite this potential for success, the one-time bracelet winner would lose if he meets Peter Eastgate later in the competition.

As for the winner of the event, Negreanu is picking online professional Brock Parker to triumph.
