Kid Poker selects world's toughest tournament

2010-03-09 14:57:55

The $50,000 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Players Championship has been described as the most difficult live tournament on the circuit.

Daniel Negreanu, writing in his Full Contact Poker blog, ranked what he believes are the ten toughest contests.

Kid Poker considered factors such as the strength of the field, the structure of the tournament and number of entrants in drawing his conclusions.

Describing his winner as the "coolest event of the year bar none", he noted: "What the structure of this event is designed to do, is to crown the best all-around poker player across eight different disciplines."

The WSOP Main Event itself came in sixth place, with the vast number of entrants said to lessen its difficulty, despite the fact that all the top players will be present.

Last month, Negreanu suggested that the world's best structure had been created for the LA Poker Classic, arguing that the antes are the most important factor when tournaments are being planned.
