Ross Jarvis clinches Sky Poker Tour title

2010-03-11 15:46:23

The Luton leg of the Sky Poker Tour has been won by Ross Jarvis, who bested a field of 150 players to land the £4,000 first prize.

Held at the G Casino, the tournament attracted a few well-known celebrities including glamour girl Kitty Lea, former Tottenham Hotspur footballer Micky Hazard and racing commentator John McCririck.

However, it was Jarvis who took the title after defeating Tony Stroud heads-up when his ace-nine held against Stroud's jack-ten.

Due to the nature of the blind structure, action was quick with many competitors forced to get their chips in pre-flop.

Commenting on the win, Jarvis told Poker Player magazine: "My intention was just to put pressure on the other final table players as much as I could and try to build up a chip lead."

The next event lined up in the tour will commence on May 8th at the Alea casino in Glasgow.
