High Stakes poker episode 'best so far'

2010-03-15 12:33:26

The fifth episode of the sixth High Stakes Poker series has been rated as the best shown so far by one website.

Poker-king.com stated that this installment of the cash-money programme had a "memorable confrontation" between pros Tom 'Durrrr' Dwan and Phil Ivey.

In the concluding hand, Durrrr bluffed the Tiger Woods of Poker with nothing more than a nine-high to take down a pot of over $200,000.

According to Poker-king.com, it was "easily the most entertaining episode of the season so far".

Other notable occurrences included a $400,000 pot won by Daniel Negreanu after he ran a hand with Gus Hansen twice.

Negreanu's top two pair beat the Dutchman's pocket queens in both, with the website postulating that this could mark the end of Kid Poker's bad luck in the High Stakes seasons.

Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan recently made a proposition bet on the show, with the latter wagering $1 million that Ivey couldn't be a vegetarian for a year.
