Taylor wins WSOP Circuit event

2010-03-19 11:55:07

Thomas Taylor has emerged as the winner of the eighth of twelve World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit tournaments at Caesars Atlantic City.

Nicknamed Sandy, the 27-year-old professional poker player pocketed $89,570 for his troubles, with the proceedings ending near midday - more than nine hours after players were seated at the final table.

The WSOP website stated that the low blind levels and the comparatively large chip stacks allowed the last nine to sit and wait for hands.

"Truth be told, if patience was a virtue, the top finishers in this tournament must all qualify for sainthood," the organisation claimed.

According to the long-running operation, this broke all Caesars' previous records for final-table endurance for preliminary competitions in the six-year history of Circuit events.

Also on the WSOP Circuit, Alexandru Masek took home $39,372 in the $340 buy-in no-limit hold'em offering earlier this month at the same gambling establishment.
